Rookie

Rookie is anything but a hero, and to his coach’s despair, not even his intensive boxing training is toughening him up. But Rookie is given the chance to finally show them all that he has the “right stuff” when his coach is informed by the Army that his son is missing in Vietnam.







The Army brass is unwilling to mount a rescue mission to free Sam and his comrades – it is too dangerous. So when the beautiful secretary Sara expresses her deep concern, Rookie, who has always secretly loved her, makes the spontaneous decision to volunteer for the mission.






Rookie is dropped off in the Vietnamese jungle, where the chaotic, would-be soldier manages to unintentionally mow down an entire squad of Vietcong warriors while putting together his weapon. As he searches for Sam, the whole Vietcong army is cringing with fear over rumors that “the man with the dancing rifle“ is hunting them down.





Rookie, however, is completely oblivious to everything – even the scary alien monster that is following him. It is only when another of his “accidents” completely destroys a secret Vietcong base that he becomes aware of his fame as the “American Super Soldier“. Now he finally has earned the respect he has always wished for.





But the “A.S.S.” is soon captured and brought to a prison camp where he comes across Sam – who, far from being an abused prisoner of war, has been having a blast teaching the Vietcong rock music. Even the monster is good-natured. A young female alien from the planet Vulvan, she has been sent to Earth to satisfy the thirst for blood arising from her very first menstruation cycle.



The heroic Rookie springs into immediate action and manages to subdue the blood-mad alien female with his sensational pancakes. Ultimately, Rookie is able to determine his true destiny – being the super soldier is not really his thing. After reuniting Sam with his dad and winning Sara’s heart, Rookie, now happily aware of what the “right stuff” really is, goes on to open up an American Pancake restaurant...
