Peggy Schenk is a florist and a widow. When her friend Anja’s husband is killed by an exploding lawnmower and her friend is considered the prime suspect, Peggy is immediately certain that the technically adept inventor Anja could NEVER have committed murder.
Determined to prove her friend’s innocence, Peggy leaves her florist shop and sets out to find the real killer. Just as the trail starts to warm up, she’s confronted by Detective Schiller. Not only is the macho detective at a loss as to why she hasn’t succumbed to his obvious charm, he’s also irritated that she’s dabbling in his own line of work. Schiller truly believes he’s God’s gift to women… and to police work.
Avoiding the annoying distraction of Schiller, Peggy relentlessly continues searching for the evidence that will clear her friend. Aiding her in the quest is Dr. Dobler, whose intense but hidden adoration for Peggy compels him to do anything she asks.
