Next Door Crimes: Silence is Golden

Detective | Movie, 1 x 90'

A lawyer is found murdered inside a church by someone who then confessed the crime to the priest. When criminal investigator Mark gets involved in this case he cannot understand why the priest is unwilling to reveal what he knows. Mark is determined to solve this crime and confronts the priest a second time.

During their conversation, Mark is able to use his communication skills to finally get more information from the priest.

When the word spreads that Mark had “tricked” the priest into giving up information, the town erupts with a loud cry of anger and condemnation. To make matters worse, Mark’s son Jonas has sided with the priest.

The outraged townsfolk are asking: “How dare the criminal investigator make the priest break his vow of confidentiality? But as well: “Is it immoral for the priest to protect a murderer?” The priest isn’t the only valuable witness that’s refusing to cooperate. Dr. Anette Hofmann, stating the privileged doctor/patient relationship, is also unwilling to talk to Mark…even though she has her own suspicions…

Suddenly, yet another murder victim is found inside the church and the question arises: “At what point do you give up your professional morality in order to see justice done? On his way to solving this case, Mark is forced to expose a tragic family secret that has been kept hidden for a long time.
