Isabelle Tanner has been promoted to an editor at the hip fashion magazine where she works, making her already luxurious life even more glamorous.
But her Jet Set life suddenly crashes when she finds out that her dad and his second wife have died in a car accident – she had believed that her father suffered a fatal heart attack twenty years ago! Contacting her grandparents, she hears the true story…
Isabelle’s father had abandoned her and her mom when she was still a child. When years later he tried to get back in contact, her grandparents adopted Isabelle to legally protect her, which barred him from her life.
Needing more answers, Isabelle drives out to her dad’s farm. There, she is stunned to discover that she has siblings – the 7-year-old Pauli and the 10-year-old Melissa! After surviving his heart attack, her dad had settled down and founded a new family.
Isabelle, as the only surviving relative, becomes the kids’ legal guardian – at least until the Youth Welfare Bureau can place them into an eligible home. With time, her fondness for her brother and sister grows… and she is compelled to bring the kids back home to the apartment that she shares with her partner Robert.
But Robert, insensitive as always to her needs, angrily declares that children have no place in his life. Witnessing the fight, Melissa and Pauli run away unnoticed…
