Successful divorce lawyer Herbert Windscheid is ready to marry again after his wife’s death four years ago. He’s gone through hard times and now he wants to find a new wife and a new mom for his four kids Benny, Janina, Micha and Moana. In his work Herbert is brilliant, but when it comes to his personal life he’s a complete wreck. 
It’s no surprise then, that when he shows up with Felicitas – who doesn’t like kids at all – the four are horrified. To them, Felicitas is a gold digger and only interested in their dad’s money. In an attempt to stop him from making the biggest mistake of his life, the kids hire the only divorce lawyer who can keep up with their dad – Sabrina.
At first Sabrina is not exactly thrilled by the idea of taking on such an odd case, but the possibility of winning in court against her old rival Windscheid changes her mind and she finally takes the job.
Sabrina and the kids start digging for evidence against Felicitas and they soon discover Felicitas’ financial problems. But when Windscheid realizes that both his kids and Sabrina are suing him, he has a fit. In court, Felicitas grows confident when the children convincingly show their need for more love and attention than Felicitas has given them.
During the trial, Windscheid attempts to prove that Sabina has wiretapped Felicitas with the help of underage children. The court then considers suspending Sabrina’s license to practice law, which leaves her devastated. She’s become very close with the kids, supporting them in school and listening to all their problems.
In an emotional speech she tells the court how much she cares for the kids. In a surprise move Sabrina withdraws from the case, designating Herbert as the prosecuting attorney. Now he is attorney for both the defense… and the prosecution.
In a breathtaking cross-examination, a totally frustrated Felicitas slips up and shows her true character: she was only after Herbert’s money. Unmasked as a liar, she runs out of the courtroom.
Finally, the family is reunited – and who knows, maybe there’s even a wedding in the air…
