The Forgotten

When swastika symbols are scratched into the windows of a university, Detective Thomas Bernau is in charge of the case. Although the rookie investigator at first suspects the obvious, that the damage was simply an act of right-wing vandalism, the mounting evidence is pointing in a more bizarre direction – supernatural phenomena.





Far out of his league, Bernau turns to a team of parapsychologists to help him solve the mystery.

Quickly Bernau abandons his initial skepticism and actually becomes quite impressed with the expertise of the ghost hunters.






However, confronting the world of the dead has disturbing side effects and causes a long-submerged trauma to resurface. When Thomas was still a kid, his younger brother was beaten to death by a burglar.








Because Bernau was unable to protect him, he has always felt responsible for his brother’s death and until now, has suppressed his devastating feelings of guilt.  

Together with the parapsychologists, Bernau uncovers a barbaric crime that had been committed more than 70 years ago.




As a result of concentration camp experiments conducted on twins, two innocent girls were killed – with their preserved organs being stored at the university. It is the girls’ ghosts that are now haunting the building. But if the detective ever hopes to bring this case into the light, he must first face up to the darkness in his past – and finally put his own ghosts to rest…
