Season I | Dramedy | Series, 13 x 45’
The hairdresser Danni Lowinski decided some time ago that she could do more than just comb hair, so she began studying law. Now, at age 32, she has just barely passed her exams and is enthusiastic about the idea of finally practicing her profession.
But when her job interview with prestigious lawyer Oliver turns into a disaster and all of her other applications are rejected as well, her dreams of a better life are shattered. On top of that, Danni shares her tiny apartment with her grumpy dad, who is confined to a wheelchair.
She stubbornly defies her father’s will that she again works as a hairdresser – Danni wants more out of life!
While she is catching up with her friend Bea, who works at a coffee shop at the mall, Danni suddenly has an idea. After getting the green light from the mall management, she simply opens her own law office in the mall.
It does not take long before her first client arrives. Mayumi, who worked in a wealthy household as a nanny and cleaning woman for five years, has been fired because her rheumatism had affected her ability to work. However, she only received € 500 in compensation – but what legal means does an illegal employee have? Danni demands Mayumi’s right for a higher compensation.
Lutz is another case: raising his three kids as a single parent, he is being accused by the Office of Child Welfare of not adequately providing for his children. Also, Meike claims that there was no need to amputate her arm after she fell while being drunk.
In her efforts to help, Danni is not alone. Besides her friend Bea from the coffee shop, there is Razul, a well-educated Persian shoemaker who agrees to store her “office” overnight. Nils, a masseur who had studied twelve years of psychology and medicine without graduating, supports Danni with advice and an occasional relaxing massage.
Together with her friends, Danni finds rather unconventional solutions – a success that does not go unnoticed by top-notch lawyer Oliver…
