The Wizards of the Unseen University must play a game of football against the united teams of the city for their very survival.

The problem is the Wizards are terrible at football and no magic is allowed! It’s the Unseen Academicals versus Ankh-Morpork United!

As the big match draws near, the University’s only chance of winning looks to be in the form of Trev, who works below stairs for the Wizards but has a gift for kicking a tin can.

And Mr Nutt. No one knows much about Mr Nutt, who has mysteriously arrived to work with Trev… except that he looks a bit like a goblin, is incredibly strong and seems remarkably well-read.

But Trev is refusing to play football and is completely in love with the beautiful Juliet who works in the kitchens though her head seems to have been turned by the opportunity to become the greatest fashion model ever.

And the footballing gangs of the city seem to be out to get the strange outsider, Mr Nutt.

Will Trev get the girl? Will the Wizards win the big match and save the Unseen University? Will Lord Vetinari tame his turbulent city? And who or what will Mr Nutt turn out to be?
