“Chartbreak Hotel” creates an entertainment extravaganza that combines several exciting elements. Standup comedians and musical acts on stage alternate with hilarious pre-taped sketches. All of these skits revolve around travel, vacation and hotel life, as they lampoon the whole holiday experience.
Three popular comedians are at the center of the show, either on stage, where two of them host the show and present the live music acts, or in the quick-fire sketches where they fill many surprising roles in the hotel environment, as everything from annoying hotel guests, clumsy waiters, and smart club reps to intellectual night porters or sexy lifeguards.
Sometimes the sketches are introduced by the hosts and sometimes they are interwoven with the musical performances on stage, seldom taking longer than a minute to deliver their killer punch lines. From all corners, it’s the rapid-fire comedy that makes up the largest part of the show.
But it always all comes back to the show’s stage, where the hosts welcome their guests, offer the occasional funny anecdote, introduce the comedy segments and together eagerly anticipate the show’s grand finale - the performance of the absolute top star of the night.
