The unique improv comedy and ratings success “Schiller Street” leaps to an entirely new level, but the basic rules remain: top-class comedians, a continual flow of surprise guests…and no script whatsoever.








But in the format’s new XXL version, a second stage, a bar, is introduced in addition to the main character’s apartment. With this second set, the creators of “Schiller Street” are now able to greatly expand the spectrum of their amusing improv, with the new environment creating a vast possibility for additional skits.





With the new “theater in the round” rotating audience seating, it’s now even possible to play and improvise in parallel on both stages.










The chief appeal of “Schiller Street XXL” is the cast and their talent for improvisation. Working without a script or “safety net,” and building only on individual instructions from a director, an ensemble of comedians come up with side-splitting spoofs in the moment…and entirely on their own. The hilarity and spontaneity are fueled by the director, who communicates weird and wacky dialogue via earphones to the individual cast members one at a time.

The others don’t have the faintest idea of what was communicated. It’s exactly how the others react to another character’s cue that’s made this show so incredibly funny and successful.








“In the dark, you look just like Brad Pitt”, ”Dance like John Travolta” or “The pizza delivery guy is exactly your type” - confronted by such out-there and wacky dialogue, each comedian must improvise on the spot and go with the flow, and anything can happen…which usually does!






A rotating assortment of guests keeps the humor at high level and fresh. The audience is kept aware of the hidden dialogue, which is flashed on the screen, but the sheer novelty of the situation makes it impossible to predict in what direction they’ll go next.
