The “Angry Carpenter” is not only the man who will whip home renovators’ failed projects into shape; he will knock some sense into the home renovators themselves. He is every would-be handyman’s worst nightmare… but he also makes dreams come true.
There are countless numbers of do-it-your-selfers who think they know it all and have no trust in skilled specialists. They are men with tall visions that have started huge projects, often with their loyal wives cheering them on.
That is, until those wives are faced with the bitter reality of living in what threatens to be a permanent construction site. Running out of steam, the men become frustrated that their big dream has turned into a total disaster.
All work stops, and it seems that the family home will forever resemble a construction site…or will it?
The “Angry Carpenter” is the hero that will not only get the renovations back on track, he will get the home renovators back on track…whether they want to hear it or not! In each one-hour show, he visits one family and confronts them. “How did it get like this?” “What the hell were you thinking?” “This is all screwed up!”
Then, the “Angry Carpenter” will take control of the work. With the help of his building crew and the family, the hopeless project turns into a lovely home. The home renovator can either laugh or cry when the “Angry Carpenter” takes over – as long as he becomes useful or gets the hell out of the way!
Throughout this makeover show, there are moments of conflict and seriousness, but also surprises and comradeship. It is an emotional nail-biter, where homes half-destroyed by overconfident bumblers finally become Home Sweet Home… and lessons, however painful, are hopefully learned.
Outperforming Sweden’s Kanal 5’s primetime ratings by far, the show tells the stories with a humorous twinkle, unafraid of irony or of poking fun at the couple or family.
