Now, employees have the opportunity to completely alter their working atmosphere by restyling the office, department or rooms of their colleagues and boss. A particular company is nominated by one of its staff for a makeover of the interior and the workstations.
All of the modifications take place under the competent guidance of an enthusiastic host, a project manager, a stylist, an interior designer, an interior landscaping specialist and a health and safety expert from an agency concerned with on the job working conditions.
On Friday afternoon, all of the colleagues exchange their usual goodbyes - and then a few selected employees, carefully chosen by the initiator, work with the program’s makeover team to get the huge job done.
An undercover van outfitted with a hidden camera films everybody leaving the office on Friday. Together with the host, the initiator provides a voice-over commentary on the footage.
Between the makeover activities, the show offers tips on how a workplace can be effectively and attractively altered to increase employee productivity.
The initiator and the other team members go into elaborate detail on the personal qualities of the group of colleagues that will benefit from the makeover.
The initiator then explains why this particular office and these specific employees are in such dire need of a change in atmosphere. There is always one central figure that is the primary subject of the makeover. The commentary is accompanied by home videos that the initiator had taken in the preceding weeks.
The angle is always that it concerns people who are less than optimally productive in the workplace. For example, one person may have had a difficult year, while another may simply not perform well in such an uninspiring office setting.
Everything has to be done by 9 a.m. Monday morning. Just imagine the faces of the unsuspecting employees who show up to begin their work week and are shocked by a completely revamped office, now tastefully spruced up with trendy lounge cushions and a high-tech laptop in place of the dreary, mind-numbing gray on gray desk and chair.
Turn your lifeless office into a stylish and stimulating work environment – “Workplace Makeover” shows you how!
