Real Life | Format
Butcher or hairdresser, hotel manager or gardener: any job can be part of “Your Chance”. In each episode, three candidates compete for an apprenticeship in their dream career, with only one ultimately succeeding in landing the contract. Over the course of two days within their new professional environment, they must prove themselves more worthy of the position than their rivals.
Every episode is divided in three parts, beginning with the job interview. Each candidate presents himself to his potential employer and explains his motivations for wanting the job. Then the practical test: The employer assigns each applicant a hands-on exercise relating to the specific profession, such as asking aspiring photographers to prepare camera equipment.
At the end of the first day, one of the candidates is sent home…
During the entire competition, either a family member or friend of each candidate is on-site offering commentary. Finally, the remaining two hopefuls reach the last stage – a direct, head to head competition.
It could be the cooking of a three-course dinner, the creation of an artistic flower arrangement or the replacing of a computer’s hard drive. The employer, after observing and judging which of the two has done a better job, then announces who has won the apprenticeship.
How well do the three candidates handle the intense competition? How do they get along with their potential boss? As the candidates give their all to get the elusive contract, they experience an intense spectrum of emotions, from the disappointment of defeat to the joy of success…
